¹As one life leaves this world another one enters, and so the circle of life continues…
Regardless of which side of the aisle you sit on, we can all agree that this man served his country and state with honor, integrity, and distinction. Of course, media outlets are scrambling for all kinds of newsworthy or not so worthy angles this week. Did Trump purposely not fly the American flag at half-staff after the announcement of Senator McCain’s passing? How Senator McCain got the last word with his Memorial Service against Trump. Who will be his interim replacement in the Senate? Where is Sara Palin? The list is endless. The simple fact is that this good man had a loving family who is going to miss him.
Hundreds lined the streets and city blocks to say goodbye to Aretha Franklin in her hometown of Detroit. Among those paying their respects were President Obama and wife Michele releasing this statement, ²“Every time she sang, we were all graced with a glimpse of the divine. Through her compositions and unmatched musicianship, Aretha helped define the American experience. In her voice, we could feel our history, all of it and in every shade—our power and our pain, our darkness and our light, our quest for redemption and our hard-won respect. She helped us feel more connected to each other, more hopeful, more human. And sometimes she helped us just forget about everything else and dance.” Taylor Swift honored Aretha with a moment of silence during one of her performances. Again, a strong woman of faith will be mourned by her family. She was a mother, a grandmother, an aunt and a friend.
Now for the entering this life part…..
We, my husband and I are expecting new grandbabies, yes babies. Our daughter will be having twins. Her road to conceiving has not been easy and has had its’ share of sorrow. Our family feels blessed and overjoyed with the thoughts of the new little one's upcoming arrival. The excitement of “reveal” and “baby shower” parties, nursery planning in her new home, and name picking are on our minds now. The size of our family will grow by two! Luckily we live in an area that allows for her to receive the specialty health care she and the twins need with Wheeling and Pittsburgh near.
So, the circle of life continues in Jefferson county and across the world. May your family be blessed as mine. If you are mourning a loss, please remember those memories made. Those memories that make a family a family.
