We never seemed to be a priority to anyone else, and we saw house after house get snatched up before we were ever notified that they were available. She even helped me with the negotiation, and she walked us through the entire nerve-racking process so we didn’t miss any deadlines or forget any details. Dealing with the Rentals division of Cedar One and even Cedar One upper management has been a HORRIBLE experience. Cedar One manages apartment buildings from their Wintersville office and collects their management fees but complains when they have to travel as far as Wheeling to address maintenance concerns. It took Cedar One 57 days (after dozens of phone calls, text messages and emails from me and a certified letter to Mr. Lucking, the owner of Cedar One, for Cedar One to provide me with hot water. They initially told me that “You having hot water is neither necessary nor a priority”. It took them like 45 days just to turn on the water heater and another almost 2 weeks to turn up the temperature. 45 days to flip a breaker and another 12 days to turn a knob. Unbelievable! The AC never worked when I moved in and they told me that I am responsible for AC maintenance per the lease but the thing is it never worked from Day 1 so basically they told me that I had to fix the AC that was broken before I moved in if I wanted air conditioning! I have been experiencing issues with my apartment door keypad lock for almost two months now. I tell them that I don’t know if I am going to get locked in or locked out but top Cedar One management does not care! It also took Cedar One approximately two months to secure the community mailbox (residents’ mail was strewn across the floor and walked on!) and provide trash receptacles for residents’ trash! There was also issues with the front and back apartment building door locks which they finally corrected but they would not provide me with a new back door key. Cedar One also told me that they would provide no assistance whatsoever in identifying the Internet coaxial cable entering either the apartment building or my unit. Cedar One has even hung up on me when I was on the phone with them! Cedar One owns their very own maintenance company (see Cedar One’s website). All they have to do is pick up the phone to resolve tenant complaints yet my keypad lock issues remain. THIS IS NOT A REPUTABLE FIRM!!! There are literally dozens of negative Google and other reviews from Cedar One tenants on the Internet. DO NOT RENT FROM CEDAR ONE!!! DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THE STRESS AND AGGRAVATION THAT IS CEDAR ONE!!!
